OUT NOW! Many great authors participated in this amazing collection of stories about women who are leaving behind toxic partnerships.

All proceeds benefit the Chicago Foundation for Women.

I’ll be honest – there were times while writing this story that I thought I just couldn’t do it. Lol I was sick and every one of my family members were undergoing a special type of stress. On top of that, I’m a purist – if the inspiration won’t come, I just won’t write. In order for me to finish a project, I have to be in love with my manuscript, and for the longest time, I just wasn’t in love.

It took a while and many false starts before I told myself, “Chrissy, just write. The protagonist doesn’t have to save the world. She just have to save herself. She just has to discover the bad bitch that’s inside her. Just write a smaller story, but in a better way.”

So, even though I was thisclose to telling the one & only Lily Luchesi that I was out, I focused and pushed. I hope you enjoy “A Tree Named Hua,” along with the many other exciting stories waiting for your time & love!!

xoxo

I'm proud to announce that my nephew, Danny Buenaflor, is featured in the 2024 Ghostly Rites anthology with his story, "I'll Be Waiting For You." Danny is a gifted, natural storyteller with his own distinct style, and you will LOVE what he's prepared for you.

My story, "Undead Things," is also featured:

It’s early 14th century France. Young, rebellious Katerina sneaks out of her large ancestral home to see a popular poet perform locally. Instead, she stumbles onto a secret – an old well with a coffin stuffed vertically inside. Join Katerina as she learns about secrets, murder, evil, and much more.

I'll update this after I read the rest of the stories! I can't wait!

Released Sept. 25, 2023

Brody's Light new cover.jpg

Brody is a humanized Japanese death god, one of 8 husbands to the petite, lovable Queen Icelinn of the Second Circle of Hell. Friendly, obsessed with humans, and loves a good joke, he also holds a deadly secret.

Brody’s only half of a soul.

Years ago, the chaotic side of him broke away, turning into a separate living entity by the name of Sota. Now that Brody has landed himself a prominent place in Glacier’s royalty, Sota wants to merge back with him.

***

Welcome to the world of the Ethereal Eight – a universe parallel to ours in which the afterlife is a vast place, bigger than that of our Earth, where many countries and nations thrive, each with different leaders, people, and beliefs. Here, all people are divided into three domains based on morality: Light (Heaven), Dark (Underworld), and Neutral (Earth).

Ancient gods are either still thriving and relevant, or had broken off parts of their souls and had grown them into new, independent beings, beings who would help these antiquated gods stay relevant in the ever-changing human realm of earth.

One kingdom in the continent of Hell – the Second Circle, to be exact – has a new name and is now called Glacier. Its people are dark but peaceful, only wanting to be left alone in their free-spirited sexuality.

Its queen has eight husbands who call themselves the Brotherhood – eight different Lords, hailing from different Earth times and cultures.

What deity shards live within you?

(Note: This is a prequel to Brody's Light.)

Aprylle is a smart and curious angel who’s leaving the comfort of her heavenly home to find her fellow warrior angels that she feels responsible for. She must brave the strange, cold territory of Earth while adjusting to her new humanlike form.

When she discovers that one friend became a Death Fairy and tricked another friend into a misleading soul contract, Aprylle’s reunited with her mentor and friend, Uriah, from home. Together with some unlikely friends from a very different afterlife realm, will she be able to save Cerise? Will she save Evaline from herself?

This collection is Chrissy Moon’s tribute to her father.

A few days after the release of her poetry book titled “Maybe That Isn’t Her” -  a collection intended to celebrate her emotional healing journey – Chrissy Moon’s father passed away. She chose to document her grieving process in these 50 poems. Bear witness to her disbelief, sorrow, utter devastation, and finally acceptance as she endures it. Whether you’re a poetry lover or experiencing a loss of your own, these poems will speak to your heart.

Coming Home anthology book cover

The common theme that these seven stories share – returning home in one way or another – is meant to honor those who have had major life changes in the world lately.

Our first experience is “The Lure of the Snake” by Karen Mossman, an enjoyable, attention-grabbing mystery. Next we have the friendly, easy narration of “Katy, Emerald and McFinnigans” by Paul White, filled with well-set scenery.

“Home At Last” by L.A. Remenicky follows, a feelgood story about family, completion, and what makes a place feel like home. “Goodnight Sarah” by L.G. Surgeson brings you some chuckles about a cranky man but swiftly turns into something more poignant– a story you won’t soon forget.

“Two Hearts Forever Entwined” is a moving story by Karen Mossman that addresses significant topics in today’s world, including the pandemic and homosexuality acceptance. Paul White breaks up the tension with “Fixing the Thingamabob”– a charming, shorter piece that proves you don’t need to travel far to have an interesting adventure.

Finally, the novella “Aprylle’s Death Fairy” by Chrissy Moon is an urban fantasy about an angel in search of her missing friends in the strange, unwelcoming human realm of Earth.

Whether you want to cry, laugh, or delve into a new world, COMING HOME will reaffirm your belief that there is, indeed, no place like home.

It’s been a long time since I’ve released a book of poetry, which is why I’m so thrilled about this very personal project.

This collection takes us through the ups and downs of my emotional healing: my pain, my delusions, and my negativity. When things were at their worst, I put myself back together using the lessons I had learned after my disasters. The book finishes with reflections of strength and self-protection. It’s intense, it’s highly emotional and it’s 100% me in my most vulnerable form.

What's new with me?

From August 2025:

Hi, and thank you for stopping by! My family life has been very busy lately, but I am very pleased to announce that I'm going to be updating this page heavily. I have many projects in the works, both in fiction and poetry.

Please keep checking back! Thank you! xoxo

From 2023:

Well, I don’t know how to answer that. Just like millions of people, my life has undergone a lot of changes lately.

One of those changes is this website – my old one is lost, along with a lot of its contents, so I am building it back up.

In the real world, I’ve been temporarily relocated, and because of that disruption, my writing (as well as everything that goes with it) was delayed.

I am very grateful for one thing I managed to accomplish during that time: The opportunity to interview author F.D. Gross upon his completion of COMMUNION, the final novel of his great Wolfgang Trilogy. He has created an epic, poetic, ruthless, terrifying universe packed with loyalty, bravery, and so much more. Obviously, I highly recommend it to anybody who loves fantasy or horror. Soon I'll have more information here about his work, but for now check him out at his official website

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but last Valentine’s Day was my 10-year anniversary as an indie author. Who would have thought back in July 2011 when I wrote the opening scene for Surreal Ecstasy in a spiral notebook that I’d be saying this now? I don’t regret a thing, and I cherish every moment.

The two most wonderful things I take away from my experience as an author are the opportunity to share my art with the world, and the beautiful souls I've made friends with in this industry. I have met some truly amazing people with real skills and talent, people who grace us with the opportunity to take a walk in their mind rooms via their written work. I am currently working on a page for this site to give you some information about these authors.

More to come for this website... please check again soon! Thanks for visiting!
