COMING HOME – A heartwarming collection filled with adventure

Coming Home anthology book cover

The stories in this heartwarming collection share a theme of someone returning home, in one way or another.

It’s a theme that author Paul White came up with to honor the unexpected changes of lifestyle that many have experienced in the last few years and, delighting in the idea, five Awethors sat down to create these tales for you.

You may be wondering what an “awethor” is. We’re a diverse and dedicated group of independent writers, the brainchild of D.M. Cain and John Longman. We have members all around the world.

For now, we present seven exciting and unique stories.

Our first experience is “The Lure of the Snake” by Karen Mossman, an enjoyable, attention-grabbing mystery. Next we have the friendly, easy narration of “Katy, Emerald and McFinnigans” by Paul White, filled with well-set scenery.

“Home At Last” by L.A. Remenicky follows, a feelgood story about family, completion, and what makes a place feel like home. “Goodnight Sarah” by L.G. Surgeson brings you some chuckles about a cranky man but swiftly turns into something more poignant– a story you won’t soon forget.

“Two Hearts Forever Entwined” is a moving story by Karen Mossman that addresses significant topics in today’s world, including the pandemic and homosexuality acceptance. Paul White breaks up the tension with “Fixing the Thingamabob”– a charming, shorter piece that proves you don’t need to travel far to have an interesting adventure. Finally, my novella “Aprylle’s Death Fairy” is an urban fantasy about an angel in search of her missing friends in the strange, unwelcoming human realm of Earth.

Whether you want to cry, laugh, or delve into a new world, COMING HOME will reaffirm your belief that there is, indeed, no place like home.

Paul White

2) white pic.jpg

Paul White is a multi-genre author of fiction, semi-fiction, and non-fictional works. His books range from Children's stories to tales of Crime and Violence, from true accounts of those who live in the worlds War Zones to recording the humorous and social history of Royal Naval Life. Fictional stories of Heartache and Lost Love stand alongside episodes of Psychological Terror, Magic, Gremlins and the plain absurd.

The common denominator which runs through many Paul's fictional stories is the most important matter of all, the human condition; that of life, of love, happiness, laughter, anger, anguish, fear, hope, uncertainty, pain, and loss.

Paul says he has a "warped sense of humour, is a lover good food, good wine, and great company."

NEW RELEASE!

Maybe cover by Chrissy Moon.jpg

It’s been a long time since I’ve released a book of poetry, which is why I’m so thrilled about this very personal project.

This collection takes us through the ups and downs of my emotional healing: my pain, my delusions, and my negativity. When things were at their worst, I put myself back together using the lessons I had learned after my disasters. The book finishes with reflections of strength and self-protection. It’s intense, it’s highly emotional and it’s 100% me in my most vulnerable form.

What's new with me?

Well, I don’t know how to answer that. Just like millions of people, my life has undergone a lot of changes lately.

One of those changes is this website – my old one is lost, along with a lot of its contents, so I am building it back up.

In the real world, I’ve been temporarily relocated, and because of that disruption, my writing (as well as everything that goes with it) was delayed.

I am very grateful for one thing I managed to accomplish during that time: The opportunity to interview author F.D. Gross upon his completion of COMMUNION, the final novel of his great Wolfgang Trilogy. He has created an epic, poetic, ruthless, terrifying universe packed with loyalty, bravery, and so much more. Obviously, I highly recommend it to anybody who loves fantasy or horror. Soon I'll have more information here about his work, but for now check him out at his official website

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but last Valentine’s Day was my 10-year anniversary as an indie author. Who would have thought back in July 2011 when I wrote the opening scene for Surreal Ecstasy in a spiral notebook that I’d be saying this now? I don’t regret a thing, and I cherish every moment.

The two most wonderful things I take away from my experience as an author are the opportunity to share my art with the world, and the beautiful souls I've made friends with in this industry. I have met some truly amazing people with real skills and talent, people who grace us with the opportunity to take a walk in their mind rooms via their written work. I am currently working on a page for this site to give you some information about these authors.

More to come for this website... please check again soon! Thanks for visiting!
